PUNE, India – August 20, 2026 – Bentley Systems, Incorporated (Nasdaq: BSY), the infrastructure engineering software company, today announced a strategic collaboration with Tata Projects, one of India’s leading technology-led engineering, procurement, and construction companies, to help strengthen industry-academia engagement and prepare the next generation of infrastructure professionals for the demands of a rapidly evolving sector.
The collaboration was formalized through a non-commercial Memorandum of Understanding signed by senior leaders from both organizations. Through the agreement, Bentley and Tata Projects will work together to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practice by giving university students practical exposure to infrastructure engineering workflows, real-world project requirements, and digital technologies used across the infrastructure lifecycle.
The initial pilot will be implemented with COEP Technological University, Pune, creating a scalable model for broader academic engagement in the future. The initiative builds on Bentley’s continued commitment to advancing digital engineering education in India and supporting experiential learning pathways that connect students, educators, and industry practitioners.
Under the agreement, Bentley and Tata Projects will focus on jointly reviewing and enhancing learning content to align with current industry requirements; co-delivering specialized training programs for students; integrating real-world engineering projects, datasets, case studies, and problem statements into learning experiences; and enabling industry guest lectures, project site visits, student mentoring, project reviews, assessments, internships, and future talent pipeline development initiatives.
“This collaboration represents an important step in connecting engineering education more directly with the realities of infrastructure delivery,” said Kamalakannan Thiruvadi, Regional Executive, South Asia at Bentley Systems. “By working with Tata Projects and COEP Technological University, we can help students gain the practical digital engineering skills, industry exposure, and project-based experience they need to contribute meaningfully to India’s infrastructure future.”
“At Tata Projects, we believe industry has an important role to play in preparing future professionals for the complexity and scale of modern infrastructure development,” said Shirley Burla, Chief Human Resources Officer, Tata Projects. “This partnership with Bentley Systems reflects our commitment to sharing practical knowledge, strengthening industry-relevant learning, and supporting the development of future-ready engineering talent.”
As part of Bentley’s broader education mission, the collaboration is designed to help institutions and students engage more deeply with the tools, processes, and practical challenges shaping infrastructure design, construction, and operations. For Tata Projects, the initiative reinforces its role as a leading industry partner committed to advancing skills development and strengthening the talent pipeline for India’s infrastructure sector.
