Belonging and Inclusion at Bentley

a better Bentley for everyone

At Bentley, we are committed to creating a workplace and world where everyone feels they belong and can achieve their full potential to do the best work of their career. We believe that when we celebrate unique perspectives and care for one another, we foster a culture that drives innovation and inspires a global community united in advancing a better quality of life for all.

Our approach to belonging and inclusion is guided by three key objectives:

Cultivate an Inclusive Culture

We strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and included, empowering colleagues to bring their authentic selves to work every day. From supporting colleague resource groups to auditing policies for inclusive language, we are actively fostering a culture where belonging thrives and every individual is equipped to contribute meaningfully to our shared success.

Empower Colleague Success

By investing in growth opportunities, professional development, and supportive networks, we enable our colleagues to thrive and achieve their goals. Initiatives like our global leadership development and mentoring programs, communities of practice, and expanded benefits that support well-being and education assistance create an environment where colleagues feel supported in their personal and professional journeys.

Uplift Our Communities

Through partnerships, volunteerism, and community engagement, we work to extend the principles of inclusion beyond our walls and positively impact the communities we serve around the world. Colleagues have shown remarkable dedication by participating in programs like our STEM grants, using their Bentley Impact Day to give back, and inspiring the next generation of infrastructure leaders through mentorship and outreach.

Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity Alliance (IDEA)

Bentley’s Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity Alliance (IDEA) program includes resource groups that allow colleagues to join peers from across the business and the globe to build community and foster belonging and inclusion. IDEA includes the following colleague resource groups: OpenAbilitiesOpenPride, People of Color in the U.S. (POCUS), Women at Bentley, and Veterans and Military Families at Bentley. Since 2020, these colleague-led groups have provided a safe space for Bentley colleagues to engage in open conversation, propose changes to our practices, and create a sense of community. In 2023, we launched IDEA India to raise awareness about Indian culture and serve the local needs of colleagues in the region.

Through a variety of events and programming, IDEA groups offer support, education, networking, and professional development opportunities to members, including those who identify with the community and their allies. These colleague-led groups focus on a core question: How can we learn from each other’s lived experiences and make Bentley a place where everyone can thrive?
