On-Demand Webinar Series: Smarter, Connected Construction with 4D Planning
Join us for an on-demand four-part webinar series showcasing how 4D planning is driving smarter, more connected construction across real-world projects. Featuring expert insights from Christopher Görsch, Akif Ibrahimoğlu, and John Bewick, each session explores a different aspect of 4D implementation-from reducing on-site inefficiencies and capturing real-time progress from the field to managing logistics and delivering sustainable outcomes.
You’ll hear lessons from infrastructure and public sector projects across EMEA, including the GBP 39.2 million redevelopment of Woodham Academy, and discover how tools like SYNCHRO are helping teams improve coordination, visualize impacts, and make data-driven decisions.
The series concludes with a live roundtable discussion where all three speakers will share perspectives on the future of 4D construction and answer your questions.
Construction sites are still plagued by inefficiencies-with up to 80% of daily activity classified as non-value-adding due to poor planning, fragmented communication, and constant interruptions. Despite decades of Lean Construction practices, many projects continue to suffer from rework, delays, and underutilized digital tools.
In this session, Christopher Görsch will share key findings from extensive research across multiple trades and project environments. He will explore how real-world workflows break down due to lack of task visibility, missing materials, and disconnected planning cycles-problems that can be dramatically reduced with 4D planning tools like SYNCHRO.
By integrating scheduling with 3D models and live project data, 4D planning gives construction planners the insight and foresight they need to align teams, detect clashes early, and keep the flow of work uninterrupted. This session will demonstrate how shifting from reactive coordination to predictive, digitally supported planning can significantly improve productivity, reduce waste, and support a more human-centered approach on site.
What you will learn:
- How 4D planning tools can reduce fragmentation and interruptions by improving task sequencing and situational awareness.
- Why traditional planning methods fail to address real-time complexity in large projects.
- The importance of integrating worker insights and data into a flow-driven planning model.
Join us for an insightful webinar on how SYNCHRO’s 4D digital construction platform empowers project teams to perform real-time tracking and progress updates directly from the field by using mobile and tablet devices.
In this session, Akif Ibrahimoğlu will explore how site teams can seamlessly capture and relay on-site progress using intuitive digital tools, by bridging the gap between the office and the field. You’ll discover how real-time 4D visualization not only enhances planning and coordination, but also strengthens communication, improves stakeholder engagement, and accelerates decision-making across all project stages.
Ibrahimoğlu will showcase real-world examples from large-scale infrastructure projects across the EMEA region, demonstrating how leading organizations are leveraging SYNCHRO to:
- Monitor construction progress in real time
- Visualize schedule impacts directly in 4D
- Increase collaboration between field and office teams
- Improve productivity and reduce rework through data-driven decisions
Whether you’re a planner, project manager, or construction professional, this webinar will provide practical insights into implementing 4D-enabled workflows that drive better outcomes on-site and in the boardroom.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to make your construction projects smarter, more connected, and more predictable, powered by SYNCHRO.
What you will learn:
- How SYNCHRO enables real-time 4D tracking on construction sites using mobile and tablet devices.
- Ways to capture and update site progress directly from the field.
- How live updates enhance planning, coordination, and decision-making across project teams.
- Real-world examples of 4D workflows applied in large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Best practices for bridging field and office teams using digital construction tools.
- How to improve project visibility, reduce delays, and make data-driven decisions in real time.
4D planning is becoming essential for delivering complex construction projects-bringing together time, space, logistics, and progress tracking into a single, visual workflow. In this session, we’ll explore how implementing 4D across project phases can dramatically improve coordination, reduce risk, and give planners the tools to make smarter decisions from day one.
John Bewick will walk through real-world applications of 4D planning-from model development and logistical sequencing to dynamic scheduling and visual baseline comparison. He’ll also share how the integration of drone data, site scanning, and 360-degree imagery supports accurate progress tracking and team alignment.
The session will highlight the GPB 39.2 million redevelopment of Woodham Academy, a two-phase education project for the UK Department for Education, where 4D tools played a key role in delivering Section 1 on time for the school term and managing logistics and demolition into 2025.
What you will learn:
- Best practices for timing and developing a detailed 4D model.
- How 4D planning supports plant, logistics, and laydown area coordination.
- The benefits of visual baseline comparison and real-time progress tracking.
- Lessons from implementing 4D on a major government-funded education project.
Join Christopher Görsch, Akif Ibrahimoğlu, and John Bewick for a recorded roundtable as they reflect on key insights from their sessions and share how 4D planning is reshaping the construction sector. From reducing waste and field disruptions to tracking real-time progress and managing logistics at scale, this discussion brings together academic research, field experience, and major project delivery. This is your chance to hear how 4D planning is being applied across infrastructure and public sector projects-and what it means for the future of digital construction.
What you will learn:
- Key takeaways from real-world 4D planning implementations across infrastructure, education, and large-scale construction projects.
- Expert perspectives on the future of 4D in construction-from practical challenges to emerging opportunities in digital project delivery.
