Chapter 1: Urban Floods – Water Quality Matters

Mitigating risk for floodwater projects is a critical issue that is impacting urban cities worldwide. Water quality and the increasing threat of floods are at frequent risk of bringing pollutants and contaminants. As urbanization accelerates, cities face the dual challenge of ensuring clean water for their populations while also managing the rising risk of floods. We’ll explore how these challenges are interconnected, the impact on public health, and the innovative solutions being implemented to safeguard our urban environments. In this chapter, you will learn about:

  • Pollutant runoff and health risks
  • Infrastructure strain
  • How to implement mitigation strategies
  • The role of technology and what does it mean to Bentley Systems

Chapter 2: Behind the Scenes Engineering Challenges in Stormwater Network Operation

Stormwater network operations face their own sets of engineering challenges that require a robust software solution to manage. In this episode, you will learn:

  • Capacity management
  • Regular inspection and maintenance
  • Upgrading and replacing aging infrastructure
  • Integration with urban planning

Chapter 3: Understanding Floods and Leveraging Technology for Solutions – Libya Derna Flood Event

In September 2023, Libya faced a devastating impact from Storm Daniel. Catastrophic flooding from the extreme weather event left the area in need of a robust response. In this episode, you will learn:

  • The analysis of the causes and impact of the Derna flood event
