Bentley’s statement regarding the Privacy Shield ruling

The European Court of Justice recently issued a ruling invalidating Privacy Shield as a lawful mechanism of transferring personal data from the EU to the US. Bentley understands that some of our accounts and users may have questions about the impact of this ruling on their business practices.
Bentley has long offered our accounts a choice of Privacy Shield or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for cross-border transfer protection. Going forward, Bentley will continue to offer SCCs to our accounts while closely monitoring guidance from EU data protection authorities, the European Commission, and the U.S. Department of Commerce to address issues left unresolved from the ruling.
Bentley is committed to protecting your data as privacy concerns and regulations evolve. To begin the process of executing SCCs, please contact your Account Manager.
Please contact Bentley’s Data Protection Officer with further questions or concerns.
