2009 SmartGeometry Conference

The 2009 SmartGeometry Conference focused on innovative design tools, technologies, and methodologies that allow and encourage new forms of architectural and structural expression – forms that are radically changing the world of the built environment. Leading industry and academic experts gave presentations at this highly informative and thought-provoking event.

The Reception on April 1, 2009, was an informal, social event that also provided attendees with the opportunity to see selected Conference Day presentations and materials produced in the Workshop, such as images and models.

Conference Day

The Conference Day on April 1, 2009, featured world-class presentations and discussions dedicated to advances in computational and parametric design by leading industry and academic expert.

Alumni Summit

The Alumni Summit on March 31, 2009, presented a state of the art review of current computational design in practice and an outlook at the visions in computational design ahead.

The Alumni Summit was held at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.

 

GenerativeComponents Workshops

The Workshop on March 27-30, 2009, provided a unique hands-on opportunity for exploring advanced design objectives with tutors from some of the world’s most prominent architectural practices. These organizations are already employing advanced computational and parametric design tools, technologies, and methodologies in real-world projects. Among the practices represented were Arup, Foster+Partners, and KPF.
