Frequently asked questions about WaterGEMS V8 

When is WaterGEMS V8 going to be available?
WaterGEMS V8 Beta is available now for early adaptors. SELECT subscribers will be able to download WaterGEMS V8 as a free upgrade after the official release date, which is scheduled for the second quarter, 2006. 

I would like to participate in the early adaptors program. What do I need to do?
We would love to get your feedback during the last development stages of WaterGEMS V8. Your valuable input helps us deliver real benefits to our users. To join our early adaptor program, please send us an email to sales.haestad@bentley.com. A current SELECT subscription for WaterGEMS or WaterCAD is required.  

Is the new MicroStation interface included, or do I have to pay an additional fee to get it?
The new MicroStation platform comes standard with WaterGEMS, as well as the new enhanced ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and Windows stand-alone interfaces.

Do I need MicroStation, ArcGIS, or AutoCAD licenses available to use WaterGEMS?
Not at all. WaterGEMS V8 is about interoperability. While competing GIS-centric solutions require an ArcGIS license to run your model, WaterGEMS V8 gives you four options out of the box, including a stand-alone interface that doesn't require any platform.

Is there also a version 8 for WaterCAD coming up?
Yes. WaterCAD V8 will include all the new features that will be available for WaterGEMS V8, except the ArcGIS integration. WaterCAD V8 will continue to be a scalable platform, with add-on modules, and an available AutoCAD integration.
