Climate Integrity: Protecting Ecosystems, Protecting the Truth (in Portuguese)
November 13, 2025, 15:45 – 16:45 (BRT)
The climate crisis demands science-based solutions and robust public policies, but it faces a growing obstacle: disinformation. False or distorted narratives about climate change, biodiversity, and the energy transition undermine social trust, delay policy decisions, and divert essential investments from climate action. At the same time, the preservation of ecosystems, especially forests, oceans, and areas of high biodiversity—depend on collective mobilization and clear communication.
This conference aims to discuss how information integrity should be seen as an integral part of environmental protection strategies. Experts in climate, biodiversity, academia, technology, and public policy will explore ways to combat disinformation and strengthen public trust, ensuring that investment and governance decisions are supported by transparent and verifiable data.
By uniting ecosystem protection and disinformation protection, the debate will pave the way for an innovative approach that recognizes the interdependence of knowledge, trust, and action. This theme responds to axis VI of the COP30 Action Agenda, which highlights the integrity of information as an essential condition for unlocking mitigation, adaptation, and climate finance solutions, accelerating a just and sustainable transition.
