Efficient Design Workflows for Everyday Road Projects

Efficient Design Workflows for Everyday Road Projects

WEBINAR SERIES

Thank you for registering for our webinar series Efficient Design Workflows for Everyday Road Projects. Please watch the videos below!

Part 1 | Driving Better Road Experiences: Road Widening, Intersections and Roundabouts

Join our product expert James Anding in the first of a three-part webinar series and discover why OpenRoads Designer has everything you need to deliver better road projects. From road widening to intersections and roundabouts for projects big or small OpenRoads Designer has all the tools you need in ONE application.

Session highlights:

Road Widening with Corridor Modeling

  • Why generating a 3D model provides a faster grading footprint earlier in design process.
  • Gaining a better understanding of how the proposed widening will impact existing drainage ditches and ROW.
  • Leveraging corridor models to aid in plan creation and reduce the amount of manually drawn lines

Simple Intersections and Roundabouts

  • Efficiently check intersection grading.
  • Simplifying change management in the design iteration process, especially for turning path analysis.

Part 2 | Designing for Complete Streets

Complete Streets projects are challenging for design and engineering teams as they can incorporate a wide range of elements, from sidewalks, bicycle lanes, bus lanes, crossing opportunities, median islands, roundabouts, accessible pedestrian signals, curb extensions, to streetscape, and landscape treatments as well as upgrades to existing drainage and utilities. Understanding the big picture and how these elements interact with each other and existing infrastructure is key to successful project delivery.

Join our product expert Alan Esguerra in the second of a three-part webinar series and discover why OpenRoads Designer has everything you need for designing complete streets projects.

Session highlights:

  • Overlay and milling
  • Upgrading drainage
  • Mini-roundabouts, bike lanes, and curb extensions for ADA sidewalk ramps
  • Improving existing roadway lighting
  • Upgrading signage and curb ramps to current ADA standard

Part 3 | Why do I Need a 3D Model to Produce 2D Plans?

New to 3D modeling and not sure how to get started?  Have questions on how your current workflow can benefit from 3D? We are here to help. While traditional CAD can get the job done, your team is losing a lot of time on manual, repeatable, error-prone work. Join our product expert Don Lee in the third of a three-part webinar series and discover how to spend less time drafting and more time designing.

Session highlights:

  • Why 3D modeling is key to increasing efficiency
  • Making your design workflows more efficient with templates and automatic design updates
  • Simplifying standards adherence using a workspace
  • Identifying clashes in the design phase to reduce rework
  • Batch producing 2D plan sets from 3D model
  • Bringing designs to life with visualization
