RAM Connection

RAM Connection is the ideal solution when structural engineers or designers need to check a specific connection, design a single connection for multiple joints, or optimize each connection in a structure. 

Steel connection design software is a specialized tool that automates the complex process of designing the joints that connect structural steel members (like beams, columns, and braces). It performs detailed calculations to ensure the connection can safely transfer forces (shear, moment, and axial loads) between members, checking against all relevant failure modes like bolt shear, weld strength, and plate yielding according to building codes. This saves engineers significant time and helps produce safe, efficient, and code-compliant connection details. 

RAM Connection can design a comprehensive library of steel connections, which are fully compliant with AISC and other international design codes. These include: 

Shear Connections: Single and double angle, single plate, and shear end-plate connections. 

Moment Connections: Flange-plated, directly welded, and both bolted and welded moment end-plate connections. 

Combined Connections: Connections that must resist a combination of shear and moment forces. 

Brace Connections: A wide variety of gusset plate connections for vertical and horizontal bracing, including connections to both column webs and flanges, and corner connections. 

Splice Connections: Column and beam splice connections using flange plates, web plates, or end plates. 

Base Plates: Column base plate connections, including those for axial loads, moments, and shear. 

Truss Connections: Connections for hollow structural section (HSS) and other truss members.
