AutoPIPE offers advanced analysis capabilities, including buried pipeline analysis, hot clash detection, wave loading, fluid transients, FRP/GRP and plastic pipe analysis, pipe‑structure interaction, fluid and friction effects, jacketed piping, flange analysis, thermal stratification, thermal transients, and seismic methods. It supports linear and nonlinear analysis with rapid setup, evaluation, and visualization of thermal, seismic, wind, and dynamic loads.

The application includes 25 international piping codes. It ensures projects comply with major American (ASME) and European (EN) metallic piping codes. It also includes API, NEMA, ANSI, ASCE, AISC, UBC, ISO, and WRC guidelines and design load limits. AutoPIPE has built-in support for ASME B31J for more accurate flexibilities and Stress Intensification Factors (SIF) for tees. The software is compliant with ASME Section VIII (which governs the construction of pressure vessels), including Division 1 (for pressures above 15 psi) and Division 2 (alternative rules). Other supported codes for pressure vessels include EN13445 (European standard), CODAP (Div 1 & 2) (French code), AD2000 (German code), PD5500 (British standard), and GB (Chinese national standards).

AutoPIPE offers significant integration capabilities with other applications. It provides integrated design between piping and structural analysis through bidirectional integration with STAAD.Pro® and SACS™, automatically transferring pipe support loads and importing structures. Users can import 3D plant design CAD models from numerous Bentley applications (like OpenPlant®, MicroStation®) and third-party applications (such as SmartPlant, Aveva E3D, Autodesk Plant 3D, PDS, AutoCAD, CADWorx, SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA, PlantFLOW®).

Over 30 international design codes are supported including multiple years of ASME III, B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, EN13480, CSA-Z662, ISO14692, DNV F101, ASME B31 J. AutoPIPE is one of the few pipestress analysis programs that adheres to the strictest international quality standards, including ISO 9001, NQA-1, 10CFR50 and approved by NIAC, NUPIC since 1986.
