EXTON, Pa – August 13, 2026 – Bentley Systems, Incorporated (NASDAQ: BSY), the infrastructure engineering software company, today announced its Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers for STAAD.Pro and MicroStation won the Gold Stevie® Award for Technology Breakthrough of the Year in the Construction and Civil Engineering Technology category of the 2026 Stevie Awards for Technology Excellence.

The Stevie Awards recognize outstanding business achievements and positive contributions by organizations and professionals worldwide. More than 180 technology and business professionals judged this year’s nominations through independent scoring to determine award winners.

This recognition underscores Bentley’s strategy to make AI usable for infrastructure engineering by connecting AI assistants directly to proven applications such as STAAD.Pro and MicroStation. With Bentley’s MCP servers, engineers express design intent in natural language, AI assistants provide high-level reasoning, and Bentley’s applications execute the modeling and analysis at machine speed. Engineers remain in control throughout the process, with the ability to review the logic the AI followed, adjust the model as needed, and validate the design against accuracy, safety, and compliance requirements using Bentley’s established tools.

Bentley’s STAAD.Pro MCP server enables structural engineers to leverage their preferred AI assistants to query structural models, define load cases, extract analysis results, and drive design optimization. Bentley’s MicroStation MCP server extends agentic workflows to CAD and BIM modeling, including complex geometry generation through Bentley’s established modeling environment. A recent MicroStation MCP server demonstration recreated the parametric geometry of London’s Gherkin tower from a text prompt, showing how AI agents can handle complex design tasks inside Bentley’s modeling environment.

ARC Advisory Group described Bentley’s MCP approach as a disciplined path for applying AI in infrastructure engineering, enabling AI agents to orchestrate tasks through validated tools while engineers retain review, approval, and final judgment.
