Culvert Hydraulic Analysis and Design Software

Stress-free culvert analysis and design

Analyze existing culverts and design new ones, from simple barrel crossings to complex embankment cross-drain systems, with different shapes and sizes, special tail water considerations, and roadway overtopping that considering watershed data, culvert characteristics, and even weir geometry.

What is OpenFlows CulvertMaster?

The FEMA-approved OpenFlows CulvertMaster is hands down the best tool available for solving culvert hydraulics problems. Incredibly flexible, fast, report-ready, and stress-free, OpenFlows CulvertMaster builds on the input you have on hand while providing what you are missing. OpenFlows CulvertMaster will pay for itself on your first project as it streamlines complicated culvert hydraulics and delivers the results you need.

Fast

Quickly deliver robust, report-ready culvert designs. OpenFlows CulvertMaster builds on the input you have on hand, providing you with any unknown design variable such as headwater depth, discharge, or culvert size.

Easy

From simple, single culvert sections to complex, multi-barrel culverts with roadway overtopping, OpenFlows CulvertMaster helps you evaluate existing culverts and compare numerous design options with ease.

Reliable

Use the built-in FHWA HDS-5 methodology, SCS and rational hydrology, and robust gradually varied flow hydraulics to deliver culvert designs that will stand the test of time.

Frequently Asked Questions

CulvertMaster is easy-to-use application for designing new culverts and analyzing existing culvert hydraulics. Analyze everything from single-barrel crossings to complex embankment cross-drain systems, with different shapes and sizes, special tailwater considerations, and roadway overtopping considering watershed data, culvert characteristics, and even weir geometry. When you design and analyze culverts, easily select from a library of standard culvert shapes, materials, and entrance conditions, then compute culvert headwater and tailwater elevations using calculation methodologies outlined in Hydraulic Design Series Number 5 from the U.S. Federal Highway Administration.

Data entry and manipulation are flexible and straight forward with CulvertMaster. You simply enter data in clearly labeled fields with full context-sensitive help and click to calculate. Quickly navigate using tabbed dialog “worksheets” to edit watershed data, tailwater conditions, and profile information. You can conveniently organize all your designs and analyses for the same project within a single file. When you interpret and present your modeling results, you can easily view detailed tables, reports, rating curves, and more.

The price of Openflows CulvertMaster varies per region. While there are various types of licensing available, a common choice is the 12-month practitioner license offered through Bentley’s eStore. When you purchase through the eStore, you get a Virtuoso Subscription. This means you get the software and “Keys” (tokens) to redeem for customizable training, mentoring, and consulting services.
