Founded in Finland, Terrasolid was among the first companies to recognize the potential of processing large volumes of data for civil engineering. What began with applications for sonar data quickly evolved to handle LiDAR point clouds.

 

Today, solutions including TerraScan, TerraModeler, TerraMatch and TerraPhoto are used in more than 100 countries, helping thousands of users to:

 

  • Generate high-accuracy 3D city models from LiDAR and aerial imagery for urban planning and visualization
  • Inspect roads and railways, identifying risks such as obstacles, trees, and surface conditions

TerraScan’s Find Danger Objects tool finds points which are within a given distance from vectorized wires, creating detailed maps of vegetation near power corridors. With tree-level segmentation, it provides utility companies accurate information to prevent vegetation-related outages through proactive trimming or removal of high-risk trees.

 

 

When the Bentley Ecosystem Catalog was introduced, Terrasolid was eager to join. In fact, it became the first company to publish a solution on the platform.
