Recycling water as a circular approach has become critical for addressing water scarcity and ensuring sustainable agriculture. One of the largest water treatment projects in the world, EchoWater will upgrade infrastructure to treat 135 million gallons of wastewater per day, providing a reliable supply of treated water, improving water quality, and alleviating ecological problems in the area. Consisting of 22 individual projects, and a requirement to maintain costs to prevent customer rates from rising, Project Control Cubed used Bentley applications to create a digital twin and a detailed construction simulation for project management. Working in a connected visual environment, the team anticipated and mitigated potential obstacles and system shutdowns, while staying aware of costs and construction schedules. Project Control Cubed completed the USD 400 million project under budget, and the state of California is using that money on the Harvest Water program to boost agriculture in the state's Central Valley and enhance the variety of food produced.
