Offshore wind farms now generate massive amounts of clean wind energy, and organizations keep building them bigger. SIDRI developed Three Gorges Yangjiang Shapa Offshore Wind Farm, the first facility off the coast of China with a total capacity of 1 gigawatt. SIDRI did not just have to contend with the wind farm's size, they also had to overcome harsh conditions in the area while meeting a tight construction schedule. With digital design and analysis, they automated and streamlined the process of modeling wind turbines and their foundations. The facility now provides wind power to 2 million households while reducing carbon emissions by approximately 4 million tons every year.
