Project
With a goal to reduce atmospheric pollution in Plock, Poland, this USD 100 billion project required Enipro Sp. z o.o (Enipro) to perform a conceptual study, generate construction packages, and provide detailed engineering and as-built documentation for the installation of catalytic denitrification and dedusting gas from the boilers of PKN ORLEN’s combined heat and power plant. To meet these requirements on an accelerated project schedule while optimizing costs, Enipro needed to implement an integrated modeling and analysis approach.
Solution
Using OpenPlant, AutoPIPE, and ProSteel, Enipro created 3D models of the piping installation in accordance with EU standards that could be accessed by all disciplines for detailed design and analysis. Bentley’s integrated, interoperable software provided a collaborative platform that accelerated information sharing enabling the team to reduce project costs and meet project deliverables ahead of schedule.
Outcome
By implementing a collaborative 3D modeling and analysis approach using Bentley software, Enipro shortened design time, reduced project costs and delivery time by 20 percent, and minimized clashes during construction. The flexibility and interoperability of Bentley software enhanced collaboration and quality of work, optimized productivity, and reduced rework. Environmentally, the completed project will reduce nitrogen oxides and dust emissions pollutants in the city’s atmosphere.
Software
Using OpenPlant Modeler to create 3D models of the piping installation, the team shortened design time, minimized clashes, and accelerated collaboration. AutoPIPE minimized piping-stress calculation time, while ProSteel enabled multi-discipline integration and increased the workshop drawing production. Enipro used OpenPlant Isometric Manager to produce isometrics, reducing the project delivery time for technical documentation by 20 percent.
