As part of the RUB 10 billion Tunguska water supply intake project to redirect the water supply of the city of Khabarovsk to an underground source, Aqua+ was retained to design, construct, install, and commission works for local automation facilities, and integrate them with the existing management system. Given the complexity of groundwater treatment facilities, development of the remote water quality monitoring and control system required Aqua+ to generate over 6000 diagrams, drawings, and reports, and streamline the workflow process among various specialists developing different types of documents to be used collaboratively.
Bentley’s Promis.e enabled Aqua+ to store all project data in a common data environment, allowing all professionals access to the most current version of documentation. With a deeply integrated electrical design process using Promis.e, Aqua+ was able to select the most reliable and accurate equipment to monitor water quality, optimize the process, and develop a single automated control system for the Tunguska groundwater intake facilities.
Bentley software enabled Aqua+ to issue project documentation for the automation of the water intake facilities in 10 months, two months sooner than planned. Using Promis.e increased project design speed by 50 percent and improved the quality of documentation by 70 percent. Bentley’s collaborative, interoperable tools streamlined the workflow process, minimizing errors and reducing project costs. The automated water quality control system has proved extremely reliable and accurate, ensuring minimum operating costs and quality water for the city of Khabarovsk.
Aqua+ used Bentley’s Promis.e for all project and design documentation required to develop the automated water quality control system, amounting to 29 volumes of 220 pages of diagrams, drawings, and reports, totaling about 6,000 pages. About 2,000 documents were generated automatically using Promis.e, in about half the usual time, allowing Aqua+ to quickly and accurately complete the design work. The built in error-checking function in Promis.e helped avoid over 30 types of mistakes during the design stage, while the localization module ensured design documentation was in full compliance with local standards.
