Illinois DOT Going Digital
with Bentley
Illinois DOT needed a solution that would provide consistency, automation, and digitalization to improve roadway safety and extend the life of bridge infrastructure by ensuring oversize/overweight trucks drive on the optimal route.
WHAT WAS THE OUTCOME?
- ILDOT lessened the average monthly time required for manual permit analysis by 91.5%, saving USD 11,400 per month.
- By saving 54,600 analyses performed by bridge engineers manually each year, the state was able to realize a significant savings.
- The permit office now issues more than 230,000 permits annually, 99.2% of which are digitally automated; which generates USD 21 million for the Illinois General Road Fund.
