Bentley is dedicated to helping our CAD users leverage the latest technologies to better execute and manage plant engineering design. Many users have successfully used Bentley PlantSpace P&ID software on a variety of projects. Bentley OpenPlant PowerPID has been developed as the next generation of P&ID software, utilizing the ISO 15926 schema at its core. We understand all of the effort that was put in by our users to customize the PlantSpace product and have incorporated a set of routines to pull the data, cell libraries, and other required files into the OpenPlant configuration.
The Project Conversion tool allows a PlantSpace project to completely migrate to OpenPlant from an “as delivered” configuration. This means that not only the basic configuration but any class and symbology customizations can be accounted for easily in the provided tools.
There is good information in the help files on what needs to be done if you feel qualified to attempt this on your own, or you can contact your Account Manager and ask for assistance.
Bentley will be delivering the same functionality for those that have been using the Bentley AutoPLANT P&ID software and wish to move to Bentley OpenPlant PowerPID.
