BRIEF

Organization:
Camp Dresser & McKee

Project Name:
St. Augustine LPRO Water Treatment Plant

Category:
Plant Multi-Discipline Design

Category Description: Projects demonstrate the use of a wide range of design and analysis engineering tools, delivering significant benefits such as shortened time scales, greater productivity, and better quality. The category covers 2D and 3D applications, visualization, and engineering analysis across multiple disciplines and spans at least two project phases.

The increasing maintenance of an aging lime-softening water treatment plant represented a financial and reliability risk for the City of St. Augustine, Florida. Consequently, the city proposed the construction of a low-pressure reverse osmosis (LPRO) water treatment facility that will use the brackish water of the Florida aquifer as its source. This will help the city transition to a much higher yielding alternative water supply and help it implement a long-term water supply and resource management strategy that ensures the conservation of fresh water supplies.

Camp Dresser & McKee use of ProjectWise allows engineers and designers to work more closely in a structured and managed environment, creating a central repository for all related project data. In addition, its use of AutoPLANT leverages innovative techniques to improve and enhance its design processes, and providing measurable increases in team collaboration.
