Organization:
Sandia National Laboratories

Project Name:
Power Through Integration

Award Category:
Geospatial Distributed Enterprises

Category Description:
This category is for projects that demonstrate the benefits resulting from the successful implementation of an information management and work collaboration environment that supports the need for access to project data in distributed organizations.

Sandia National Laboratories, a subsidiary of Lockheed-Martin Corporation, is contracted by the Department of Energy to operate and maintain Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico (SNL-NM) and California. SNL-NM operates about 1,000 facilities/structures/buildings and all associated utilities/infrastructure, including gas, electric, water, sewer, roadway, sidewalks, parking, permitted areas, storm, fences, and security boundaries.

Maintaining this much data requires accurate and up-to-date documents that reflect current conditions for interior and exterior interfaces to the structures, as well as surface and buried utilities covering 9,000 acres. Using ProjectWise and MicroStation GeoGraphics, SNL-NM maintains current and accurate as-built drawings for both geospatial and building data.
