Bentley Cadastre is the cornerstone of the Bentley GIS Architecture. It was designed for flexibility and growth, because Bentley understands that different tasks and workflows require different approaches. We also believe that common standards are critical to mapping and infrastructure applications.
That’s why we have designed our GIS products to allow use of the same feature model and products with a choice of several persistent data stores. You can choose the one that’s right for the job and your organization:
A two-tier connection to Oracle Spatial
- A three-tier connection to Oracle Spatial
- A three-tier connection to ArcGIS
- Self-contained “XFM” DGN files
- Any RDBMS/DGN supported by MicroStation
Our GIS applications such as Bentley Cadastre work with self-contained, intelligent DGN files with embedded properties and metadata, standard DGNs and a two-tier direct connection with any relational database supported by MicroStation, or a two-tier configuration with a direct connection to Oracle Spatial. Our enterprise connections works directly with Oracle Spatial or ArcGIS.
The self-contained DGN files are ideal for users and applications while the database options allow you to easily integrate Bentley GIS solutions into virtually any IT environment.
Bentley Cadastre supports direct editing of Oracle Spatial databases and provides full support of the Oracle 10G topology model and short transactions. When configured with the Bentley Geospatial Server based on the Connector for Oracle Spatial, the architecture supports simultaneous multi-user editing, long transactions, optimistic and pessimistic locking, and the time component features provided by Oracle Spatial.
