Project Title: Kilometer 416 to Kilometer 424 on Hindustan-Tibet Road
Organization: Directorate General Border Roads
Location: Himachal Pradesh, India

This $7.4 million project upgraded an 8-kilometer stretch of highway between Hindustan, India, and the Tibet border, widening the road from a single lane to National Highway double-lane specifications (carriageway width of 7 meters). Located in Himachal Pradesh, India, one of the most remote parts of the country, the project area covered difficult terrain and extreme climatic conditions including threat of avalanches.

Project Title: Construction of Six-lane Elevated Highway at Badarpur
Organization: Feedback Ventures Private Limited
Location: Delhi and Haryana, India

A new six-lane elevated highway on the Delhi-Agra section of NH 2 will pass through Delhi and Faridabad, India. This $100 million project includes constructing a complex interchange at Badarpur Junction and widening ground roads on both sides. The designer used MXROAD to produce alignment plans that would have the least impact on urban settlements and the Delhi Metro Rail project under construction along the corridor.

Project Title: Connectivity of NH 5 and NH 9
Organization: Mott MacDonald Pvt Ltd
Location: Andra Pradesh, India

To improve safety, enhance capacity, and provide congestion-free connectivity between NH 5 and NH 9 in Andhra Pradesh, India, a four-lane partial/full access-controlled highway from Hyderabad to Vijayawada and from Vijayawada to Vishakhapatnam has been approved. The project will eliminate numerous intersections at which city traffic mixes with National Highway traffic to improve traffic flow and reduce accidents.

Project Title: Pune Bus Rapid Transit System
Organization: Mott MacDonald Pvt Ltd
Location: Pune, India

Pune Municipal Corporation is implementing the $20 million Bus Rapid Transit System for the city of Pune, India, to improve mobility and provide sustainable transport. The 125-kilometer system will increase the corridor carrying capacity by at least 30 to 50 percent as well as reduce congestion, increase safety, and be environment friendly.

Project Title: Detailed Project Report for NH 210 (Tamil Nadu-India)
Organization: RITES Ltd. (Highways)
Location: Tamil Nadu, India

The National Highway Authority of India initiated the NH 210 rehabilitation and improvement program to sustain economic growth in southeastern Tamil Nadu by reducing travel time and distance between Trichy and Rameshwaram. The $161 million upgrades will shorten the drive by nearly 60 kilometers. RITES performed detailed highway design, expanding existing two-lane sections to four-lane divided highways.

Project Title: Feasibility Study, PPR for Ganga Express Driveway

Location: Bihar, India

A growing city with a population of about 1.8 million, Patna has been built on the thick alluvial deposits of the Ganga River basin. The city is surrounded on three sides by rivers—the Ganga, Sone, and Poonpun— and lies in a high-risk zone for earthquakes. This heterogeneous topography made the $458 million Ganga Express Driveway a unique and challenging project.

Project Title: Upgrading of Kudremukha-Samse-Magundi-Niduvale-Balur Road

Location: Karnataka, India

Traversing mountainous terrain to connect 13 villages in Karnataka, India, the existing 63-kilometer, single-lane road had substandard alignment and severely deteriorated pavement. The goal for this $35 million project was to derive tangible economic benefits through travel time reduction, road safety enhancement, and vehicle operating cost savings.
