The East-West Kolkata Metro Corridor Project in Kolkata, India, runs from Howrah Maidan to Bidhannagar (known locally as Salt Lake City). The Howrah Station is also the terminal of the Eastern and Southeastern Railways. The proposed East-West Metro alignment project encompassed a two-railway junction, the Howrah Bridge over the Hooghly River, and an historic area of Kolkata’s central business district.
