New Features of latest release
|
|
General
- Attributes can be given label-position 0 to be displayed while modeling or editing, but not stored in the label text element of the component. (This is not a new feature, but was not known by a number of experienced project administrators.)
- New input method "EVALUATE" was implemented. This method allows referring to the value of other attributes and/or mathematical operations. See ...\dbload\data\evaluateTest.dat for examples. One use for this is calculating values that are not easily put in a table, like schedule.
- Projects can be created using the Plant Project Administrator application and option PSDS base project.
- 3D valves are now represented using industry standard symbols so that designers can easily distinguish valve types.
- Descriptive values shown for the attribute values are now discipline specific.
- New utility automatically removes superimposed components.
- Bentley PlantSpace Design Series projects/products now use UNC path names.
- Components now have a globally unique identifier added at placement.
- PSDS example project replaces the tutorial.
- MSI-based installer provides easier enterprise software distribution.
- Components can be copied from one site ID to another.
- New project group selector allows easy selection of project folder location.
- MCS has been updated to use the actual sizes of the mod_query, ref_query and areas columns in the CHECKOUT table for the limits on the length of the data for the Commodities/Queries applied for the Primary file, the Commodities/Queries applied for the Reference file(s), and for the (list of) Areas respectively. These columns are defined in dbload\{db-vendor}\cretable.dat. If the capability for longer columns becomes available from a newer version of the database or driver, the columns could be made longer. If you are using an older version of the database or driver, the columns might need to be made shorter. If the database setup utility gives an error on creating the CHECKOUT table, the columns need to be shorter. If columns are made longer after database setup is used and those lengths are longer than what the database and driver support, an ODBC error will likely occur.
- New primary key added to BUD_CATALOG table for improved performance
Catalogs
- New “area” and “construction-type” attributes are available for all components. "Construction type" attribute is used by schedule simulator.
- New “WEIGHT” and “SURFACE” attributes added to piping catalogs.
- New attribute for shop or field material-list flag.
- New catalogs for cable tray.
- Improved PVC and Victaulic catalogs.
Piping
- Improved piping drawing creation including: single line representation, visible centerlines, and symbolic valve graphic.
- New "support location" component added to the piping menu.
- Endprep attributes added to user-defined inline piping components.
- PIPE_PBND queries for material symbology of pipe shown as dashed to represent "existing" pipe in a model.
- Length field added to MCS storage tables.
ISOGEN
- Column reference output can be written to ISOGEN.
- New option allows reordering of PCF entries within a PCF record.
- Project-specific ISOGEN styles when using the plant project.
Equipment
- All parametric equipment types include at least one nozzle manager datum.
- Vertical vessel with legs (TANK_V4LEG) correctly orients legs straddling the axis of the vessel.
- Label tool selects individual equipment nozzles.
- When editing a parametric vessel the number/name of that vessel appears in the edit window.
- Existing nozzles on equipment can be converted to nozzle manager nozzles. Nozzle manager radial nozzles now use the datum to define equip radius (parm "p2").
- Improved parametric pump representation.
Raceways
- Improved cable trays representation including ladder, basket, and closed styles.
- Placing conduit along a smartline with elbows uses correct bend radius.
- Cable tray toggle allows "open on top" or "open on bottom."
- Control the level that cable trays are placed on by selecting the level in the level manager or from the toolbar.
