Specification data stored with symbols
Piping specification data is stored within the graphic symbols, creating an intelligent isometric drawing. You can also add SAP data (article numbers), inspection data, and maintenance data as well as other user-specific data.

Automatic dimensioning
Bentley PlantSpace Isometrics V8i has an extensive collection of automated and manual dimensioning placement and modification tools. Once an isometric has sufficient dimensional information, coordinate identification can be added to the drawing automatically. Dimensions also provide the information required to produce automated bills of materials and cut length information for each isometric drawing.
Drawing editing tools
The drawing modification tools allow for quick layout changes to your isometric drawings without the need to clip, move, or redraw. This results in clear and concise isometric documents. Modifications include pipe stretching, component and dimension rotation, fence change functions, and more.
Extensive reporting capabilities
Bentley PlantSpace Isometrics V8i's automated, spec-driven bill of materials provides accurate piping component information, identifying items required for a drawing. Project title block information can be stored in any database repository and then used to automatically populate each isometric drawing. More than a drafting application, Bentley PlantSpace Isometrics V8i lets you build a 3D scale model of a drafted isometric for quick visual evaluation. The model can be checked visually using Bentley PlantSpace Interference Manager. Full design reviews and visualizations can be performed using Bentley Navigator. When used with the Bentley PlantSpace Design Series, Bentley PlantSpace Isometrics V8i lets you import isometrics drawings directly into Bentley PlantSpace Piping to create a true 3D model, providing an easy method for maintaining a 3D model in as-built condition.
ProjectWise compatible
Teamed with Bentley’s ProjectWise, Bentley PlantSpace Isometrics V8i becomes an integral part of a managed environment for plant design information.

Bentley PlantSpace IsoExtractor is an optional program that provides an interface from a number of 3D plant design systems to Bentley PlantSpace Isometrics V8i. Among these systems are: PDS, PDMS, and Bentley PlantSpace Design Series.
