Overview

A dual referencing model uses both a linear and a geographic coordinate system to integrate GIS and GPS information.

The Optram system uses an extremely flexible dual referencing information model to store, locate and display infrastructure asset data along the right-of-way, from a variety of originating formats, including CAD, GIS, and other geographical mapping formats. Using this information, Optram users can easily locate corridor assets and correlate them precisely with associated maintenance information.

The Optram GIS Interface makes easy work of associating GIS coordinate data with the related linear track layout network. Links between common industry GIS systems and the Optram GIS Interface allow maps to be displayed using the GIS systems.

From +5,000 feet altitude to -50’
sub-ballast
Optram interfaces reference external data images derived from satellite imagery, ground penetrating radar (GPR), geographic positioning systems (GPS) and geographic information systems (GIS).
