Integration with Process Simulators
AXSYS®.Process interfaces with major process simulators including HYSYS, AspenPlus, UniSim Design and PRO/II. Information from a simulation can be loaded into AXSYS®.Process, including stream properties and detailed unit operation data go with the associated connectivity. Once this information has been loaded, it can be manipulated combined with other simulations to generate a complete plant simulation model:
- Case Management Studies - Data from multiple simulation runs can be stored and managed within AXSYS®.Process. Cases can then be compared and new design cases created from the simulated information.
- Multiple Simulation Topologies - AXSYS®.Process will evaluate and store multiple different simulation design scenarios throughout enterprise lifecycle.
- Unit Sets - Simulation information can be defined in any unit system. AXSYS®.Process will convert all values into any unit system the user specifies. You can also create any combination of units required.
Automatic Drawing Generation
AXSYS®.Process uses a powerful rule base to automatically generate Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&lDs). These drawings are easily configured and extended to include your specific graphical symbols and associated data.
- Automatic Layout - Each equipment item is automatically positioned on the PFD or P&ID based on the graphical size of the object in question. Based on connectivity rules these equipment items are automatically connected.
- Graphical Symbols - Symbols can be configured and new symbols easily created using an extensive set of manipulation tools.
- More Than Symbols - Each symbol can also be defined with an unlimited set of default information—allowing you to include standard vendor data as appropriate.
- Configuration - Each of the automation rules can be configured on a per project or a per process basis—providing maximum automatic Flexibility.
- User Selection - No good rule? Let the user select the correct component during the automatic procedure and record that selection.
Integration with Heat Exchanger Applications
If you need to perform detailed heat exchanger calculations, AXSYS.Process supports the major design programs from HTFS and HTRI. These applications can be run in both their design or rating modes.
- HTRl- Provides a two-way interchange between XIST applications. .Multiple calculation results for each exchanger can be stored providing the capability to compare alternative design and how that specific design meets the process requirements.
- HTFS - Provides a two-way interchange between with TASC applications. Exchanger calculations can be loaded independently of the process simulation providing maximum flexibility in your workflow.
- Site Utilities - Define multiple standard utility services that may be available at your site and these services to your exchanger designs.
Datasheets and Reports
A comprehensive set of datasheet and report formats provides unparalleled ease for access to and manipulation of any of your information.
- Input/Output- Any of the datasheets or report templates provided in Microsoft Excel format be used for both data input and reporting This provides a familiar and powerful mechanism both manipulate your information and produce your standard deliverables.
- Tools- To provide the most effective and efficient environment, standard tools are provided batch output of results. Or, should you need to send data to an outside vendor, use the batch export and import facilities.
- Configuration - You can easily create your own formats, or reuse your existing Excel formats by simply defining a new configuration worksheet.
- More Formats- AXSYS®.Process not only provides a comprehensive set of equipment process formats, but also provides standard mechanical datasheets as well as more than 50 instrument datasheets and reports
Costing
With links to ICARUS project planning software, you can easily cost out alternatives using the same design basis to produce meaningful cost comparisons between different designs and equipment selections. The costing interface can be run at any time in the project cycle, giving you the ability create first-pass cost estimates quickly and easily. And as the design develops, more and more detailed estimates are developed with confidence that all the detailed information is being considered as part of the estimate.
- ICARUS2000 - Complete two-way interface to the ICARUS costing engine.
- Equipment Types- All the available ICARUS equipment types can be utilized to give you most accurate results.
- Leverage Data - All entered data is available to the cost engine, including data from process simulators, heat exchangers or user input.
- Results - All resulting cost information is stored in AXSYS.Process.
- Details - Once your P&lDs have been generated, each valve, fitting and pipeline can be ICARUS for a complete material take-off increasing the accuracy of your cost estimate.
Workflow
AXSYS®.Process has been designed with maximum flexibility in mind and does not impose fixed or rigid processes. Information can be integrated, analyzed and edited from both a graphical and non-graphical environment, or it can be directly accessed via any OLE-compliant application. You also have control over your work process by utilizing the extensive change management features that included.
- Data and Graphics - information can be edited and manipulated directly via a graphical or non-graphical environment. No matter where the information is edited, it is only stored once, providing guaranteed consistency throughout.
- Work Management - Each user has an individual working area, with customizable authorization and control. Change reporting can detail graphics and data changes, user sign-off and approval procedures can also be implemented
Bentley Design Tools
AXSYS®.Process ensures that your data and documents that have been generated as part of the FEED design stage can be re-used during detailed design, providing the following exchange mechanisms with complementary Bentley software products:
- AutoPLANT -Transfer fully intelligent AXSYS® P&IDs to AutoPLANT P&ID. These P&IDs can then be fully modified and additional design information added as required.
- PlantSpace- Transfer fully intelligent AXSYS® P&IDs into PlantSpace P&ID. These P&IDs can then be fully modified and additional design information added as required.
- Data Manager- P&ID related data, simulation cases, design studies and any other non-P&ID data can be transferred from AXSYS®.Process to Bentley Data Manager. Data Manager stored project design data and is integrated with both AutoPLANT and PlantSpace design products.
