The transport of large and heavy long-loads on this road network has become an increasing challenge. In a roundabout under construction near Herning, Denmark, the problem has been solved by letting the long-load pass through the central island of the roundabout.
To show how this is done and to verify that there is enough space, a visualization of a 44 meter long-load driving through the roundabout was created. Traffic in the roundabout is stopped by a follow vehicle to allow the long-load to pass on the wrong side of a splitter island before entering the roundabout. The visualization used software including Bentley MXROAD.
