Session I:
Brief Overview of RAM/STAAD/Bentley’s Structural Portfolio

A history and overview of Bentley, STAAD and RAM will be covered as well as an overview of our structural product portfolio.

Session II:
Concrete building design including post-tensioning, shear walls and foundations

Bentley recently introduced concrete shear wall design to RAM Concrete, the RAM Structural System productivity tool for the analysis and design of concrete building structures. The module automates wall design tasks, including reinforced steel selection, design force calculation, design combination generation, and critical design section determinations. In addition, it allows designs to be optimized or interactively modified and analyzed, and facilitates the design of complex wall groups and simple planar walls, per ACI 318-05 and BS 8110.

This session will highlight the shear wall design as well as demonstrate a complete building design (including beam and column design) utilizing the RAM Structural System, the industry leading program for building design.

In addition, we will demonstrate an integrated post-tensioned design of concrete slabs utilizing RAM Concept. This integration enables engineers to perform gravity and lateral analysis and design on multi-story two-way slab (post-tensioned or mild reinforced) concrete buildings.

A current customer shares  how his firm increased their productivity ten times with this improved integration.

“The project we were working on was a 32 story condominium with post-tensioned flat slabs in Miami, Florida and with the improved link between RAM Structural System and RAM Concept we were able to do in one day what previously took us ten days. Our firm has found many benefits to using RAM Structural System and RAM Concept together. For instance, with our multi-story concrete buildings we used to have to spend a lot of time transferring loads from different programs and tracking our loads - both gravity and lateral - all the way down to the foundations. Now RAM takes care of that for us.”

Session III:
Documentation and BIM utilizing Bentley Structural and Revit Structure

Bentley provides tools covering the complete structural workflow including BIM and documentation (in particular, the automatic creation of contract or shop drawings). Our tools are completely integrated with your design model to streamline your projects. In addition, we support interoperability to provide you with collaboration during the life of your projects. During this session discover how Bentley addresses these two important processes, BIM and documentation, to support and increase your business growth.

Session IV:
Customer Case Study

A current client will reveal how their firm has benefited from using Bentley’s structural offerings.

Registration is from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

The seminar begins at 8:30 a.m. and adjourns at noon.

Refreshments will be served during the breaks.
