One of the strengths of Structural Engineering is its ability to quickly and accurately create steel joints from connecting steel members. Once users input the dimensions of the desired joint type, they also have the option of adding stiffeners, double plating, backer plates, etc. After the joints are created, user-defined bolt parameters (diameter, grip, factory length, etc.) are automatically applied to complete the connections. Typical connection types include:
- Freely-definable end plate connections
- Web angle connections
- Shear plate connections
- Splice connections
