Detailed 3D city models are one of the mapping products that have seen wide-spread use in recent years. Such models are used for urban planning, telecommunications, environmental analysis, transportation, risk management, and visualization of proposed developments.
The most comprehensive such project produced in Denmark is a model of Copenhagen consisting of more than 130,000 buildings, all of which are three-dimensionally correct. The 3D model of Copenhagen was produced by BlomInfo A/S, a company specializing in mapping and geographical information for the Copenhagen city surveyor's office.
