SUPERLOAD from Bentley facilitates online permitting via the Internet with online application, routing, analysis, permit issuance, and secure payment processing. This can save transport professionals hours and even days in the permitting process. They can submit applications with routing requests from virtually any location: home base, at a state line, or by computer in a transport vehicle. SUPERLOAD automates the full workflow, including accounting and credit card transactions, to deliver substantial cost savings to the permitting agency.
With SUPERLOAD you get:
Intelligent Routing SUPERLOAD performs real-time route validation based on the size and weight of the permit vehicle and the constraints and conditions of specified routes. Bridge clearances, bridge live-load analyses, and temporary restrictions help determine routing feasibility. Flexible routing offers two primary methods:
• The user—agency staff or applicant—can interactively select a specific route via a map- or text-based interface, and the system will analyze it and show any issues. • Alternatively, SUPERLOAD will automatically generate a route to the destination that accommodates the particular permit vehicle.
Technical review is aided by the use of an interactive map. All results are conveyed both graphically and in textual reports.
Streamlined Permit Process The SUPERLOAD system streamlines the entire permitting process: application, approval, payment processing, issuance, and reporting. The agency defines permit rules and fees, which are easily updated and maintained in the database. SUPERLOAD automatically checks permit applications against account balances, insurance coverage, permitting violations, registration, and other background information. A majority of permits can be issued without agency intervention, providing the applicant with better, more responsive service. This frees the agency staff to better administer the system, support applicants, and focus on larger transports requiring more attention. The agency can intervene at any time to directly run the application process.
Comprehensive Road Network Modeling and Analysis SUPERLOAD has built-in knowledge of the roadway network and provides the tools to maintain a digital model of the highway system. This includes the location of all structures, detailed interchange configurations, bidirectional clearances, and all temporary restrictions. Analysis processes determine all structures and other appurtenances involved in the trip and analyze all vertical and horizontal clearance limitations. Integrated live-load bridge analysis of each structure to be crossed over determines whether:
• Safe passage can be made by the specified vehicle without restrictions • Restrictions are needed to cross a structure • Or the vehicle cannot safely pass over the structure as configured.
The analysis process also reviews all temporary restrictions. SUPERLOAD provides the permit administration with all analysis results, information on the selected trip, and all route-based restrictions that must be included on the permit document.
Financial Management SUPERLOAD offers a complete accounting system that can be tailored to particular permit operations. Used independently or along with existing accounting and finance systems, it verifies information and eliminates concerns associated with transactions and account management. The system supports electronic payment processing and billing, and it provides an audit trail of all financial transactions.
Multi-State Permit Integration The system is designed to provide direct electronic communication, allowing sites like Bentley’s GotPermits.com to integrate multiple state systems into a one-stop source for permits from multiple states. Transport professionals can complete a single permit application and have the information in that application transmitted to and reviewed by the appropriate systems in each state. This not only eases data entry, but also makes application data more consistent and helps resolve cross-border routing issues.
SUPERLOAD Restriction Manager Restriction Manager is a software module that can be added to a SUPERLOAD implementation to help organizations manage restriction events, from full route closure to limited access and route advisories. For most SUPERLOAD users, Restriction Manager is a vital piece of the overall oversize/overweight routing solution. What’s more, it can serve as an enterprise-wide system for planning, notification, and management of construction activity information.
Restriction Manager provides the functionality to input, maintain, manage, query, report, and display temporary route restriction information. This can be done textually or with the help of SUPERLOAD’s interactive map. All restrictions are validated against and associated to the roadway network, and the restriction information can be used during each individual permit trip analysis. Restrictions can limit attributes such as height, width, length, gross weight, axle weight, and weight per unit of tire width. Restriction Manager even allows for the definition of crossover restrictions where travel moves to the opposite side of a divided highway and features are analyzed in what would be the opposite direction of travel.
