Bentley Map V8i (SELECTseries 2)
The following sections outline the workstation (hardware) and software requirements necessary to properly install and run the Bentley Map product.
Operating System

Workstation Profile
- Processor: Intel® or AMD® processor 3.0 GHz or greater
- Memory: 512 MB minimum, 2 GB recommended. More memory will almost always improve performance, particularly when working with larger models
- Hard Disk: 1.5 GB free disk space (which includes the 500 MB install footprint for a complete installation of MicroStation and Bentley Map)
- Video: Graphics card supported by DirectX 9.0c. See the graphics card manufacturer for latest information on DirectX drivers. 256 MB of video RAM or higher is recommended. If insufficient video RAM or no graphics card supported by DirectX can be found, MicroStation attempts to use software emulation. For optimal performance, graphics display color depth should be set to 24-bit or higher. When using a color depth setting of 16-bit, some inconsistencies will be noted.
Oracle
For use of Oracle Spatial functionalities, the minimum server and client installation requirements are as follows:
- Server:
Oracle Database 11g Release 2 Enterprise Edition, Standard Edition, or Standard Edition One
Oracle Database 11g Release 1 Enterprise Edition, Standard Edition, or Standard Edition One
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 Enterprise Edition, Standard Edition, or Express Edition ***
- Client:
Oracle Database 11g Release 2 Full Client Installation *
Oracle Database 11g Release 1 Full Client Installation *
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 Full Client Installation **
* Required for those users planning to leverage direct connections to Oracle Spatial databases.
** For those users not planning to make use of Oracle Spatial functionalities (e.g., RDBMS properties only, no geometries), the Oracle 10g and Oracle 11g full client installations are supported since these capabilities make use of the underlying MicroStation database server support.
*** For Bentley Map PowerView installations, both client and server must be installed together on the client workstation. For those planning to use the conflict resolution functionality, Oracle 10g Release 2 10.2.0.3 or higher is required.
- Patches:
For Oracle 10g server instances, patches 6056355 and 6330165 are required for users working with topology.
- For Oracle 11g server instances running on Intel platforms, please see the "Known Issues" section for information regarding required version and patch set numbers for users working with Oracle Spatial 3D geometries.
MicroStation
If planning to perform a layered Bentley Map "For MicroStation" product installation, the following version of MicroStation must first be installed and configured properly.

Please note that a separate MicroStation installation is not required for the "standalone" versions of the Bentley Map PowerView, Bentley Map, or Bentley Map Enterprise products.
FME Desktop
The following version of the FME Desktop Windows 32-bit software must be installed and properly licensed prior to installation of the Bentley Map FME Extension option.
