Bentley Instrumentation and Wiring 8.9.3 lets you associate an instrument with a loop and a segment. By enhancing the existing Associate command you can create an instrument within a loop and then associate with a foundation fieldbus segment, or create the instrument in the segment first and then associate to a loop.
This functionality lets you generate fieldbus segment drawings and loop drawings that display the same instrument tag, connections and associated data. This same functionality can be used to “move” instruments from one loop or segment to another. You also have the option to remove all loop or segment associations if you wish.
The Associate command is available from the Component Bar and also via a right-click menu option in the data manipulation grids.
