Sustaining Tomorrow’s Railways Using Today’s Technology
December 9, 2010
U.S. transportation professionals recognize that long-term commitments must be made to the rail industry, that rail must play a greater role in meeting future transportation challenges and accommodate the needs of a growing population while sustaining the environment and staying competitive in the global economy.

Dynamic Modeling for Civil Engineering
December 7, 2010
Continuing advancements in hardware and software technology have revolutionized digital modeling and the use of dynamics in civil engineering design. This webcast highlights the innovative design and modeling techniques that enable engineers to take greater advantage of dynamic modeling — whether changing a modeling decision, adjusting geometric layout, or simply running what-if scenarios to develop best-case solutions or alternatives for clients.

From Point Clouds to CAD Deliverables
November 30, 2011
Learn techniques for assessing the quality of imported point cloud data and the subsequent extraction of CAD deliverables. Quality assessment procedures in this webcast will focus on establishing and confirming lineage back to survey network control.

Using Point Clouds in Civil Engineering
November 17, 2010
Data from airborne and terrestrial laser scanning is becoming an essential part of the civil engineer’s tool chest, but how can engineers get the most out of point clouds? Can point cloud data be combined with other data to provide a more efficient data acquisition resource? This complimentary webcast will answer these and other questions, showing you how to use point clouds to their maximum potential in your workflows.

Pilot Project Success: 3D Digital Engineering and Construction for Roadways
September 14, 2010
Route 85 Slingerlands Bypass Extension, designed by Creighton Manning Engineering (CME) and built by Delaney Construction for the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), was a typical project with a typical scope: to sustain the route, expand vehicular capacity, and improve safety. But how the team achieved these goals was very novel.

This webcast will detail how this pilot project used fully-digital field data for 3D, machine-guidance for stakeless construction, inspection, and as-builts. The project was such a success, Delaney Construction and NYSDOT were awarded the Informal Partnering Award by the Association of General Contractors and CME won the Be Inspired Award for Innovation in Roads from Bentley Systems, Inc. This presentation highlights the successes and challenges associated with this progressive project.
