Bentley Navigator V8i (SELECTseries 3) builds on the previous release with improved interoperability and additional support for field staff to collaborate on design reviews.
Native Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) support
Bentley users can now open IFC files natively and also publish IFC files into
i-models. In both cases, the geometry and intelligence in Building Information Models delivered in IFC format can be reused in design review workflows without the cost and risk of error-prone translations.
Clash result groupings
Bentley Navigator V8i now helps project teams save time reviewing a specified set of clashes by easily grouping them together based on user-defined criteria, which speeds project review sessions and improves team communications.
Export of clash result reports in GPX format
Field workers using GPS devices can now download clash result reports to easily find the actual location of clashes. This is particularly valuable when doing field inspections on large geographically distributed projects like highway designs.
Export of clash result reports to Microsoft Excel
Clash result reports can also be exported to Microsoft Excel, allowing teams to leverage the data within Microsoft Office.
New markup templates
The ability to customize markup reports using organizational or client standards facilitates the production of consistent project documentation.

Point cloud data viewing
With the Pointools Vortex engine, Bentley Navigator V8i enables project teams to view point cloud data, enhancing the ability to explore and understand the model in the context of the surrounding as-built environment. These tools provide the ability to snap to point clouds for measuring distances.
PDF reports of markups
The ability to produce single or multipage PDFs of markups, including those from multiple overlay files, is invaluable for communicating with all project participants, particularly those who do not use Bentley Navigator V8i as part of the design review workflow.
Rule-based association of scheduled task and geometry
Teams working together can save time and reduce the chances of teams working with out-of-date scheduling information with the rules-based association of geometry and scheduled task. Simple-to-set-up rules automate the formerly time-consuming association of Bentley Navigator V8i geometry elements with tasks in scheduling software such as Microsoft Project and Oracle’s Primavera.
RealDWG™ 2010 and Autodesk FBX® files referencing
Using Bentley Navigator V8i, teams can reference RealDWG 2010 and Autodesk FBX files with 100% fidelity. Bentley Navigator V8i extends users' access to these common project file formats without loss of quality or accuracy.
