International Journal of Architectural Computing: SmartGeometry Special Issue
ISSN: 14780771
The International Journal of Architectural Computing (IJAC) is a peer-reviewed journal founded by international organizations dedicated to promoting collaborative research and development of computer-aided (CAD) design. IJAC is committed to deepening the understanding of the foundations of digital systems for architectural design and the technologies enabling their development and application.
In its SmartGeometry special issue, IJAC features design case studies using Bentley's GenerativeComponents software. It goes into the detail of Lem3a Architecture's use of the generative design software to create a sustainable house using a "bioclimatic responsive skin." In addition, the journal features Owings & Merrill's cutting-edge research on generative design variations. IJAC captures the inventive ideas emerging in the architectural design world and includes contributions in the areas of environment and response, generative form and encoded parameters, and structure and performance. It is the first in a series of publications that put the work of leading architects and engineers into an educational context and examine it within a reflective framework.
