At Aker Kvaerner, the engineering environment in maintenance, modification, and operations traditionally used separate systems to handle the many different types of project data. At any one time, there could be 50 to several hundred contracts, facilities, and projects in progress.

The goal of this project was to create an information workflow through all the different systems to facilitate data reuse.

With ProjectWise deployed, the contract organizations now have all documentation in a controlled environment. With one source for all technical information with managed access and a rights regime, all information is accessible globally. Some documents and drawings are even used simultaneously in several projects in different versions. The new system has now been implemented in 20 contracts with seven customers that have 26 facilities among them.
