Namibian Hydrological Centre of Excellence

The greatest resource issue facing Namibia today is its lack of potable water. Left unresolved, this problem could stifle the country’s economic and social development. Inspired by the method used by Namibian desert beetles to catch moisture from the air, the Hydrological Centre of Excellence along the western coastline of Namibia will use its “sails” to capture large droplets of water from desert fog.

 

Crystal Towers

Two Crystal Towers will be located within a new financial district in Saudi Arabia’s capital city of Riyadh. The 18-story and 26-story towers will be situated between the master-planned financial center and a verdant pedestrian thoroughfare. They will be oriented to create a visual link between the two. The $151 million project includes a raised podium that will connect the two towers and provide a shaded outdoor meeting area.

 

Grand Canal Urban Development

Part of Dublin’s Grand Canal Dock redevelopment initiated in 2004, Grand Canal Square is a 90,000-square-meter complex that includes a 181-room five-star hotel, 2,000-seat theater, 105 residential units, and 40,000-square-meter office space. McCauley Daye O’Connell (MDO) served as contract administrator for the redevelopment project and as architects for all but the theater.
