Efficient GIS for Gas Utilities

Avantages

Industry Standard Data Model

Bentley Gas includes a robust data model based on years of experience modeling gas utility solutions. The data model encapsulates properties, connectivity, relationships, and the rules that maintain integrity of the data.

The standard data model allows the utility to install the solution and see immediate productivity gains; however, the data model independence in Bentley Gas also allows for modification or complete replacement of the data model.

Free Form Placements

Placing an intelligent gas feature according to the Bentley Gas model is as simple as placing any other feature. You are free to utilize efficient workflows to layout facilities rather than being bound by system constraints.

Inference Engine

The Bentley Gas advanced inference engine operates behind the scenes using rules to automatically establish network and attachment relationships as the user lays out facilities in the GIS.

Feature Editing

The Bentley Gas feature editor allows the user precise control to modify properties, connectivity, attachment relationships, and parent-child relationships while maintaining data integrity.

Network Tracing

The Bentley Gas network engine supports parametric network tracing. Parametric trace constraints—for example, stop conditions—are sets of user-defined, feature-specific queries used by the network engine to precisely control trace behavior.

Multiple Persistence Models

Bentley Gas supports multiple persistence models including DGN with RDBMS and Oracle Spatial in a two-tier configuration.

Adding Bentley Expert Designer Electric and Geospatial Server expands this capability to include three-tier connections and the ability to integrate with other GIS systems such as Smallworld and ArcGIS.

Leverages the Bentley Geospatial Architecture

Bentley Gas leverages the capabilities of MicroStation and Bentley Map to optimize workflows for gas utilities. The Geospatial Server, as well as other Bentley products, further extends Bentley Gas capabilities to meet the requirements of any organization.

Hydraulic Network Analysis

Bentley Gas allows for direct creation of Bentley sisHYD hydraulic analysis models. No redundant data administration is necessary.

Easily Configurable and Fully Customizable

The Bentley Gas data model is completely configurable with the model administrator using standard tools. This approach offers significant implementation cost savings.  Bentley Gas is also entirely customizable through a robust customization model and is accessible to Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).

Integration with Multiple-Utilities

Seamless integration with Bentley Electric and Bentley Water allows users to leverage skills across disciplines. In mid 2008, Bentley Expert Designer Electric adds powerful new capabilities, including on-the-fly design cost estimation, design cost comparison, automatic compatible unit assignment, configurable work flows, and support for work management and asset management solutions, to name just a few.
