This tourist map was produced in MicroStation utilizing CADscript and Quill. The map covers Barrington Tops National Park, Mount Royal National Park, Barrington Tops Reserve plus nature reserves and state forests contained within the surrounding area. It was the second edition of the map but the first to be electronically compiled and cartographically enhanced.
As data was sourced from two different organizations, CADscript's resymbolization techniques allowed line styles to be changed quickly without the need to individually convert linestyles of the original data. Other CADscript features used included Graduated Fill to visually indicate average temperatures and average rainfall, Transparent fills, Flexi Text, Line Caps and Line Join. The place EPS function made it simple to place images like the background and location map into the MicroStation file. Table Ordering in CADscript was essential in achieving the final desired map presentation. It allows levels to be moved to enable the correct visual effect of the map.
