Category Description:
This category applies to federal, national, regional and local government projects where Bentley technology has been used to solve an operational, planning, engineering or land information management problem.

The Amsterdam IJburg Project is an integrated sustainable urban development project that will provide housing, work, community, and leisure facilities on recently reclaimed land. It covers 495 hectares and is dedicated to the construction of 18,000 houses, apartments, schools, and offices. The project is designed as a collection of six artificial islands in the former IJsselmeer. More than 80 bridges connect the islands with each other and with existing land.

Using Bentley software, the design team is able to easily exchange information with governmental departments inside and outside of Amsterdam as well as with companies in the Netherlands and abroad. It is using MicroStation 3D functions for the visualization of the new urban skyline in the existing landscape, animation of solar lighting, and visualization of public area design and an advanced design of football fields.
