About BE Conference 2008

New Conference Theme l New Format l Why Attend l Learn More l Questions

Every society depends upon infrastructure. But as our communities grow, we are confronted more than ever with the finite quantity of resources. The ever increasing demands placed on our natural resources, the pressing need for basic services to support a healthy planet, and the resulting by-products of the world’s population present an urgent call to action.

Who better to answer this call than the world’s infrastructure professionals? We invite you to join us May 28-30 in Baltimore, Maryland for what promises to be a groundbreaking event as industry colleagues network around best practices for sustaining infrastructure!

New Conference Theme - "BEst Practices in Sustaining Infrastructure"
BE Conference 2008 - BEst Practices for Sustaining Infrastructure - reflects Bentley’s mission to provide software for the lifecycle of the world’s
infrastructure, as well as infrastructure’s impact on:

  • Society: Infrastructure underlies all efforts to create, protect, and
improve the quality of life for people around the world. It is essential
to all human activity and progress. In human terms, it enables
commerce, communications, education, health, safety, shelter, and transportation – a higher quality of life for everyone.
  • Environment: Improved infrastructure must play a major role in
reducing the unhealthy impact of human activity on the environment,
as well as in mitigating the effects of severe events, both natural and
    man-made.
  • Profession: Responding to these imperatives for the world’s
infrastructure requires a growing workforce of well-educated, motivated, and globally connected infrastructure professionals.

The two-and-half day agenda is specifically designed to empower today’s globally connected infrastructure professionals to develop and implement their own best practices by learning about the proven best practices of their peers.

Exciting New Format
BE Conference 2008 will feature a two-and-a-half-day agenda highlighted by user-led content and programs focused on essential infrastructure categories and related Bentley solutions. It will provide the ideal environment for decision makers and senior practitioners in the infrastructure community to network and exchange innovative ideas with their peers as they explore ways to increase productivity, improve project quality, and reduce the costs associated with sustaining infrastructure. More on the 2008 agenda tracks.

This year’s BE Conference will substitute lecture-based Learning Path sessions from Bentley Institute in place of the hands-on training that has traditionally been provided at this event. These unique sessions, many of which are geared specifically to the needs of decision makers and senior practitioners, demonstrate how to maximize the return on any learning investment and increase competitiveness by using Learning Paths to focus efforts on the right learning resources that best match an organization’s workflow requirements.

Beginning in 2008, to minimize users’ travel and consequent "carbon footprints," Bentley is embracing a new commitment to offering training alternatives that increase our users’ access to specialized learning content, regardless of their geographic location. Learn more.
