Since 1988, Tessenderlo Group has been working with CAD systems. It started with the Calma system. Since there was no local support for this product, Tessenderlo started to look for a more modern solution with good local support, and found this with Bentley.
Tessenderlo wanted to centralize and connect all plant information from several sites across several countries making the information available throughout the group and eliminating redundant data.
Also, the company needed to capture existing information and documents produced by an earlier CAD system, and AutoPLANT’s conversion toolkit provided software that supported the DWG file format—the only common format by which information could be exchanged between Tessenderlo's many subcontractors and its engineering and maintenance departments.
