RESUMEN

Organization:
USACE Savannah, Georgia

Project Name:
USACE Savannah Center of Standardization

Category:
Building Distributed Enterprise

Category Description:
This category applies to exceptional examples of information management and publishing of building project information on a single project, across multiple projects or integrated with enterprise systems. Many involve the management of information across distributed teams, multiple design disciplines, multiple project phases, multiple information authoring environments, or multiple participating companies.

The Centers of Standardization is an initiative to consolidate the responsibilities of programming, planning, design and design review, and contracting of specific facility types used by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Through consolidation of these functions—coupled with state-of-the-art management through the use of lifecycle BIM—the Savannah District Center of Standardization is able to leverage efficiencies in the process for considerable savings.

Using Bentley’s integrated BIM solutions, USACE was able to introduce the use of BIM technology and BIM practices into its design and program management efforts. Bentley services also were instrumental in the development of corporate workspace configuration and the training of personnel. BIM helped establish interdiscipline coordination and expedited new workflows associated with BIM as a business process.
