Hardware Requirements
The following are required to install and run Design Series - XM Edition for 32-bit x86 Windows:
Processor: Intel Pentium-based PC
Memory: 512 MB minimum (More memory typically results in better performance)
Hard Disk: 1GB minimum free hard disk space
Input Device: Any standard Windows compatible pointing device with two or more buttons
Output Device: Any industry-standard output device supported by Windows and/or MicroStation
Video Graphics Card: Any industry-standard video device supported by Windows and MicroStation. Note: Windows XP and Windows Vista support multi-monitor configurations.
Note: You must have a CD drive, network, or Internet access for product installation.
Software Requirements
Operating System:
Bentley PlantSpace Design Series - XM Edition for 32-bit x86 Windows is supported on
- Microsoft Windows Vista Enterprise
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 1A or later.
Bentley PlantSpace Design Series - XM Edition for 32-bit x86 Windows is NOT supported on
- Microsoft Windows 95
- Microsoft Windows 98
- Microsoft Windows ME
- Microsoft Windows NT
- Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
- Microsoft Windows 2000.
Additional operating system components:
MicroStation v08.09.04.88 or greater
MicroStation TriForma v08.09.04.98 or greater
- The TriForma component (MCS User) must be installed in order to perform Design Series modeling.
- The TriForma components (MCS User and the MCS Administrator) must be installed in order to perform administrative tasks on MCS.
Database Requirements:
SQL Server Projects:
- Microsoft SQL Server 2000
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005
For SQL Server use Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) v2.7 or later
Oracle Projects:
- Oracle 9i (release 2)
- Oracle 10g
For Oracle projects, use Microsoft ODBC driver for Oracle provided with Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) v2.7 or later.
- Drivers from Oracle are not supported.
- Oracle is not supported for projects created using the Project Administrator application. To use Oracle you must create and administer the projects using the pre-XM method of accessing the project (PS_CODES_DB specifying a data source).
Microsoft Access Projects:
- Microsoft Access XP 2002
- Microsoft Access 2003
Bentley PlantSpace Design Series can be used with Microsoft Access but is recommended ONLY for training, tutorial, and small file-based projects. It is strongly recommended that Microsoft Access NOT be used with Design Series for component-based projects using Model Control System or for projects which need data requirements beyond access.
