Developed in partnership with the Range and Training Land Program of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, TrueViz OnTarget maximized the efficiency of planning and designing training facilities in Kansas City, Missouri. TrueViz OnTarget integrates range design procedures with multiple technologies, including computer-aided design and drafting based on the Bentley platform.

The challenge of the project was to develop a library of standard-range templates that could rapidly create 3D models within the Bentley software environment. The 3D models became the starting point for design and aid in the range planning, siting process, and line-of-sight analysis. Other major challenges included evaluation of earthwork alternatives, creation of 3D models that integrate into constructive training environments, and identification of potential conflicts during design prior to construction.
