Resumen:  See how BIM benefits architects in practice to design and document their projects better and faster.

After using BIM-based processes at various levels within a firm, with consultants, and after tentative steps with a few innovative general contractors, the reality of an integrated practice starts to become palpable on projects. For some of the participants an integrated approach is very new while other participants have used these types of processes in their workflows for over a decade. This presentation will illustrate how to align a team, define processes, coordinate the building model, and move from concepts to construction.

BIM enables the exploration of design in terms of form, program, materials, and performance in ways that are not practical using conventional techniques. By enabling a better design environment, improved document coordination and quality, and more effective communication across the entire project team, BIM helps architects make more informed decision and consider more options—and ultimately produce better buildings more profitably.
